Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how we work. Don’t see yours? Ask us directly.
What does Logix actually specialize in?
The Microsoft Dynamics product family end to end: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics 365 Sales & CRM, Dynamics GP, Power BI, and the Power Platform — plus the customization, data migration, normalization, and systems integration work that determines whether those platforms succeed. We also provide application effectiveness assessments, cybersecurity services, and technology advisory, including for government clients.
How do your engagements work?
Most engagements begin with a fixed-scope assessment so both sides understand the terrain before committing to a larger program. From there we work under fixed-price phases or time-and-materials arrangements, depending on how well-defined the scope is. For government work, we support Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, and Labor Hour structures.
We're on Dynamics GP. How urgent is a move to Business Central?
Urgent enough to plan, not so urgent you should panic. Microsoft has put GP on a defined end-of-support path, and the practical costs — shrinking talent, aging infrastructure, security exposure — grow every year. Organizations that plan 18–24 months ahead migrate calmly and on budget. We offer a GP-to-BC readiness assessment that gives you a concrete effort, cost, and timeline picture.
Can you take over a system another partner implemented?
Yes — a significant share of our work is exactly this. We audit the environment, document what exists, stabilize what's fragile, and give you an honest read on what to keep, fix, or retire. You end up owning your system again instead of depending on whoever built it.
Is Logix registered for federal contracting?
Yes. Logix Technology Solutions, LLC is a U.S. Small Business with an active SAM.gov registration — UEI HEL3PT1EECC3, CAGE code 6YX01 — qualified under NAICS 541511, 541512, 541519, and 541614. We work as both prime contractor and subcontractor, and we welcome teaming inquiries. See our Government Contracting page and downloadable capability statement.
Do you work with organizations outside the DC area?
Yes. We're based in McLean, Virginia, in the Washington, DC metro area, and deliver most work remotely for clients nationwide, with on-site presence for discovery, go-lives, and milestones where it adds value.
What happens after go-live?
We stay. Every implementation includes a hypercare window, and most clients continue with a support arrangement covering administration, enhancements, release-wave testing, and reporting. Our longest client relationships exceed ten years — that's the model, not the exception.
How do you price projects?
Assessments are fixed-price. Implementations are typically phased fixed-price once scope is defined, with T&M for open-ended optimization and support. You'll always know the number before work begins — no surprise invoices.
